Rules for playing paintball vary, but can include capture the flag, elimination, defending or attacking a particular point or area, or capturing objects of interest hidden in the playing area. Depending on the variant played, games can last from seconds to hours. In friendly pickup games of paintball, you pretty much make up the rules before the play starts. The main thing is to keep the rules simple and make sure that everyone understands them whether it is just you and your buddy or a larger group of friends playing war. Example of a Game: Supply Line War: 5 Players on each Team. Three Refs. to cover both end and middle of field play to make rulings and make notes or players simply play on honor system which is usually best. The object of each team is to move 20 cans of beer, softdrink, or whatever from point A to point B. If shot player has can in possession they remain in play. When a player is shot, they must give up whatever cans they have in their possession to the player who shot them. The shot player must return back to their teams starting point but remains in play. The other player can move on to try to put the cans in their possession at their point B. If shot player does not have can in possession then they are eliminated. At the end of one hour or when 3 of the opposing team have been eliminated, which ever team has the most cans at their point B wins that game. In the event of a tie, then well, that is a tie, get over it.
